8/31 - Elements Quiz / go over Ch.2-3.2 Quiz

Today you had the Elements quiz, then we went over the CH. 2 - 3.2 Quiz. After that, I returned to you all of the work that I had from you, and then you spent the remainder of the time working on your worksheet and the Chemistry Vocab words.

On Tuesday, we will be doing a titration lab demonstration, if you would like to get a "sneak peak" at titration calculations, you can click on the following link for a virtual titration lab:

We will be focusing on the equation used to calculate the concentration of the acid/base.

8/30 - Basic Chem Notes Contd

Today we focused on bonding. We talked about Ionic bonding and covalent bonding, and we discussed the difference between the two. Then we went over bonding patterns, the types of covalent bonds, polar vs. non-polar, and characteristics of water.

Tomorrow is your elements quiz, and then I will give back the quiz from Monday.

PLEASE NOTE: We have moved the Basic Chemistry quiz back to Wednesday 9/6 and the Chemistry vocab quiz to Friday 9/8.

8/24 - Finish up with 3.1 and 3.2

Today we finished the worksheet. We covered the case study for chapter 3 and the first and second section. TOmorrow, you will have a day for independent study to go over the notes and worksheet.

Your worksheet is due on Monday, your quiz on CH2-3.2 is Monday as well.

8/23 - Review timeline, finish Ch 2

Today we reviewed many of the important events on the timeline chart. Then we finished up Chapter 2 and reviewed the last few environmentalists from the Chapter (Aldo Leopold and Rachel Carson).

You should be finishing the CH. 2 section of the worksheet at this time.

8/22 - Timeline Chart

Today we finished going over the most important acts on the timeline chart. Remember, you need to focus on learning what the act or law did, not so much matching the date with the name of the act.

8/21 - Quiz and begin Timeline Chart

Today we had a quiz on Chapter 1. I will give it back to you tomorrow.

Then we reviewed the early conservationists that we had gone over yesterday, and began going over some of the most importants events on the timeline chart.

At this time, you should be working on the chart, we will finish going over it tomorrow.

8/18 - Begin Chapter 2

Today we went over the Case Study for Chapter 2 involving Bison in North America. Then we started talking about the Early Environmentalists.

8/17 - Rules Quiz, Review, Finish Ch1

Today was the Rules Quiz. Afterwards, we reviewed what we had already gone over in Chapter 1, then we finished up the rest of Chapter 1 (through Gaia hypothesis).

You should be finishing up the first chapter of your review sheet at this point...remember, your CH1 quiz is Monday!

Today we reviewed what was covered yesterday, then we talked about developed and developing countries - characteristics and facts about each.

Please remember that your rules quiz is tomorrow, so be sure to go over the rules that we went over on the first day of class. Also, you should be working on your worksheet everyday, and you need to read through:
