10/31 - Cultural Eutropication and Vocab Quiz on CH7

Today we went into detail about Cultural Eutropications: from algae blooms to the death of a lake. We finished up almost all of CH 7, we will continue tomorrow.

Then, you had a vocab quiz on CH7.

10/30 - Continue Ch 7

Today we continued learning about Chapter 7 - Aquatic Systems. We focused on the parts of a freshwater lake, and how a stream flows.

10/27 - Work on your Review Sheets

Today you worked on the review sheets, and I answered any questions that you might have on them.

10/26 - Coral reefs and laws protecting coastal areas

Today we talked about Coral reefs, and went over some of the different laws that protect coastal wetland areas.

10/25 - Continue CH 7 - Estuaries and coastal wetlands

Today we focused on estuaries and coastal wetlands. We talked about the factors that effect estuaries, the economic/ecological impact of them, and how human intervention has effected them.

10/24 - Begin Ch 7

Today we started learning about Chapter 7 - Aquatic Ecosystems. Time was given in class for you to work on your worksheet.

10/19 - Test on Chapter 6 and Essay

Today was the test on Chapter 6, and the free-response essay question.
You also received your worksheet for Chapter 7. Be sure to DOWNLOAD your notes by Tuesday, when we will start on Chapter 7.

10/18 - Finish up notes, review for test

Today we finished up going through the notes for Chapter 6, then I took any questions that you might have on the worksheet.

Remember, the test is tomorrow!

10/17 - Continue Ch 6 Notes, learn about grasslands

Today we continued with the CHapter 6 notes, and you got back your chapter 4 and chapter 5 worksheets.

Tomorrow, you will get grade printouts for the nine weeks.

10/16 - Continue Ch 6 and check algae bloom

Today we continued going over the chapter 6 notes. We talked about what types of plants were located at different altitudes and latitudes, then we focused on what was found in desert locations.

10/13 - Quiz on 6.1-6.2 and Vocab

Today you had a quiz on Section 6.1 - 6.2 and the Ch6 vocab. If you were absent, you need to come in and schedule a time to make up the quiz.

10/12 - Algae Bloom Lab

Today we started the Algae bloom lab. In it, we are determining how nitrate and phosphate pollution effects pond water. We set it up today and will be checking it over the next two weeks.

10/11 - La Lina, Greenhouse effect, and Plate tectonics

Today we learned about La Nina, we talked about what causes the greenhouse effect, and we talked about plate tectonics. Remember, plate tectonics is from pg. 106 in Ch5, and will still be covered on this coming up test.

Also, the dates for the assignments for Ch6 have been updated to the right.

10/10 - Continue Ch 6: El Nino

Today we learned about El Nino. We learned what caused it, what happens, and what occurs because of it. Please be sure that you are comfortable with this topic.

10/9 - Begin Chapter 6 Notes

Today we began to learn about Chapter 6. We talked about the weather and climate.

10/5 - Quiz on CHapter 5

Today we had a quiz on Chapter 5. After the quiz, you got your chapter 6 worksheet. Be sure to download the notes for chapter 6 from the folder.

After the quiz, you got progress reports, and all of your papers. Then, we went over the Ch4 multiple choice questions.

10/4 - FInish CHapter 5

Today we finished up the Chapter 5 notes, and you turned in the Chapter 5 worksheet. Tomorrow you will have the test on Chapter 5, and we will go over the chapter 4 test.

10/3 - Vocab quiz on CH5

Today we had a vocab quiz on Ch5. Tomorrow we will finish up the notes, and review. Your worksheet is due at the end of class tomorrow.

10/2 - Continue Ch 5 Notes

Today we learned about Chapter 5, focusing on:
