11/17 - Continue Soil Lab

Today we continued with the soil lab. Most groups got through the soil analysis, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium tests. If you didn't finish, we will work on it on Monday as well, and then continue with the soil notes.

11/16 - Begin Soil Lab

Today we went over the algae bloom lab and the Ch 7 Essay. Then we began the soil lab, and determined the pH of the soil.

11/15 - Continue Ch 10 Soils and progress reports

Today we talked about the different types of soil horizons. We focused on the top layers which contain leaf litter and humus.

I also gave back all of your work, and handed out progress reports for sceince.

Tomorrow we will begin the lab on soil Analysis.

Today we started talking about rocks and the rock cycle. Tomorrow we will pick up with soil. Please be sure to bring your book and notes every day!

11/13 - Test on CH 8

Today was the test on Chapter 8. There is no essay with the test, be sure to read through the chapter in the book so that you can get as many questions correct as you possibly can.

11/10 - Vocab Quiz and turn in Worksheet Ch 8

Today was the vocab quiz for CH 8, your vocab words were due, and the CH 8 worksheet was due at the end of the period. Monday is the test on CH 8.

11/9 - Finish up the notes on Ch 8

Today we finished up the notes on Chapter 8.We focused on the ecosystem structure and ecological succession. Be sure that you know the difference between primary and secondary succession and the factors that influence succession rates. Then we discussed biodiversity and ecosystem stability.

Be sure that you also review the map on PG 186-187.

Today we finished up the notes for Chapter 7 and reviewed lake acidification, and pH. Tomorrow we will begin counting our algae cells in our lab, and the review sheet will be due.
