Today we focused on Case Studies involving Lead, Mercury, Chlorine, and Dioxins. We talked about how these toxins affect the body, and discussed bioaccumulation and biomagnification.

Today we continued working on CH 21, we talked about different types of solid wastes, and which were most prevalent. Then we focused on hazardous wastes, and learned about what makes waste hazardous, and which are not. We finished up by talking about the best way to deal with waste: high vs. low waste approaches

1/8 - Continue population dynamics

Today Worksheet 2 and 3 were due. We learned about how immigration and birth/death rates affect population, then we talked about demographic transition. You also received progress reports for the second quarter, and you received all of your work back. Please keep the work with you, we will be going over it tomorrow after the vocab quiz.

1/5 - Continue population dynamics

Today we continued learning about population dynamics, this time we focused on age structure diagrams (also called histograms), and discussed what they meant. Worksheet 1 was due today, and you got Worksheet 3 today. Both worksheet 2 and 3 are due at the end of class on MONDAY.

1/4 - COntinue Population dynamics

Today we continued our discussion about population dynamics and presented the case study of the United States. I also passed out Worksheet 2, and you worked on worksheet 1 and 2. Worksheet 1 is due FRIDAY, Worksheet 2 is due MONDAY.
