Today we began a lab on bioremediation, we will continue working on this lab for the next two weeks. If you were absent, you will need to join into a group to complete the lab.

Today we watched a video on the history of garbage.

1/24 - Finish up CH 21 Notes

Today we spoke about laws passed regarded garbage and waste. We finished up the notes today, and the review sheet is due tomorrow first thing when you come to class.

1/23 - Continue CH 21

Today we focused on Case Studies involving Lead, Mercury, Chlorine, and Dioxins. We talked about how these toxins affect the body, and discussed bioaccumulation and biomagnification.

1/22 - Continue Ch 21 Notes

Today we talked about disposing of waste in landfills, and ways of disposing of hazardous waste. Be sure that you are working on your worksheets and studying for the test, there is a lot of information covered in this chapter.

Today we continued going through the notes for CH21, we talked in detail about the types of recycling, and the value of recycling. Then we began to talk about how to detoxify waste.

Today we continued working on CH 21, we talked about different types of solid wastes, and which were most prevalent. Then we focused on hazardous wastes, and learned about what makes waste hazardous, and which are not. We finished up by talking about the best way to deal with waste: high vs. low waste approaches

1/16 - Go over FRQ and begin Case Study

Today we went over another FRQ on Population Dynamics, this time involving a graph. Then, we read through the case study for Ch 21.

1/11 - CH 12 Test and Essay

Today you had a test on Chapter 12, and an essay. If you were absent, you need to make it up asap. This is your final grade for the second quarter.

1/10 - Review for test and turnin worksheets

Today we reviewed for the CH 12 test, and you passed up your M/C Review worksheets. I also passed back your population equation worksheets, and we went over them.

1/9 - Vocab Ch 12 Quiz and Finish up Population notes

Today you took a quiz on CH 12 vocab words, if you were absent, you need to make this up asap. We also finished up the notes for CH 12. The worksheet is due TOMORROW!

1/8 - Continue population dynamics

Today Worksheet 2 and 3 were due. We learned about how immigration and birth/death rates affect population, then we talked about demographic transition. You also received progress reports for the second quarter, and you received all of your work back. Please keep the work with you, we will be going over it tomorrow after the vocab quiz.

1/5 - Continue population dynamics

Today we continued learning about population dynamics, this time we focused on age structure diagrams (also called histograms), and discussed what they meant. Worksheet 1 was due today, and you got Worksheet 3 today. Both worksheet 2 and 3 are due at the end of class on MONDAY.

1/4 - COntinue Population dynamics

Today we continued our discussion about population dynamics and presented the case study of the United States. I also passed out Worksheet 2, and you worked on worksheet 1 and 2. Worksheet 1 is due FRIDAY, Worksheet 2 is due MONDAY.
